No place we have visited is better for boat watching than Maine. The waterfront at the Wooden Boat School is one reason why. At any given moment, marvelous cruisers are moored alongside the schools extensive fleet of small boats. Any student can check out any Wooden Boat School craft. Just take the quickie safety course upon arrival and check out a life preserver on the way out to a boat. The afternoon finds people rowing over to an out island for a walk through a massive fern meadow or taking a sunset sail. Those boats not in use hang on moorings as marvelous photo ops – just waiting to get their picture taken. And who can resist?
